PROLOGUE - Rotorua
3 April Distance: 9km Elevation: 235m The prologue sets the scene for the next four days of racing. Meet your fellow riders, get into the swing of riding with the Volcanic Epic plate, and set your seeding for the following day. |

STAGE 1 - Rotorua 4 April Distance: 47km Elevation: 1092m Stage 1 is a point to point format, and will start at Te Puia Rotorua geothermal valley and finish at Te Pūtake O Tawa carpark.
Stage 1 embarks on a unique journey through Te Puia’s geothermal wonders, only accessible to riders during the Volcanic Epic. You’ll wind your way through the Whakarewarewa forest’s world-class trails - experiencing both native and exotic landscapes. |

Stage 2 - Taupo
5 April Distance: 55km Elevation: 1300m Stage 2 is a loop format, and will start/finish on the fringes of the Taupo CBD.
Stage 2 will see riders heading along the trails of the Waikato River and pass Huka Falls before crossing into the amazing pumice based trails of Craters MTB park. |

STAGE 3 - Tokoroa
6 April Distance: 35km Elevation: 1092m Stage 3 trails are to be announced in late May 2024.

Stage 4 - Rotorua
7 April Distance: 48km Elevation: 1130m Stage 4 is a point to point format and will start at the Whakarewarewa Living Māori Village and finish at the Rotorua Arts Village.
Stage 4 takes us back to the epic landscapes of Rotorua. From geothermal to native forest, the ride will go through the woop-inducing singletrack of the Whakarewarewa forest before finishing in the centre of Rotorua town at the Arts Village Centre. |
