Role and Responsibilities
- Venue
- Building of venue infrastructure - finish line chute, gantry, pop up tents, branding, signage
- Assist with any other aspect of the event as required.
- Course - Nominated Person only
- Course marshal
- Aid Station
Key Tasks
- Work with the event team to ensure the site build and branding is set up correctly
- Assist with the setup and pack down of Finish Line Chute with fencing, branding and gantry.
- Assist with setup and pack down of Pop up tents with all furnishings
- Assist with the setup and pack down of the Prizegiving area.
- Hand out finisher medals on Stage 4 to all finishing riders - Nominated Person only
- Course assistance - Nominated Person only
- Marshalling to direct the riders the correct way on course.
- Assist in the Aid Station with food and hydration
- Transport to and from course marshal and aid station points will be available from the Event Base.

- Wednesday 25 March, 7.00am - 10.00am and 5.00pm - 7.00pm - Taupo
- Thursday 26 March, afternoon shift. Time TBC with helicopter uplift.
- Friday 27 March, 2.30pm - 5.00pm
- Saturday 28 March, 6.00am - 9.00am and 3.00pm - 7.00pm - Tokoroa/Rotorua
- Sunday 29 March, 6.00am - 7.00am and 2.30pm - 5.00pm - Rotorua
If you are a Nominated Person
- Wednesday 25 March, 11.00am - 5pm - Taupo
- Thursday 26 March, 11.00am - 4.00pm - Helibike stage
- Friday 27 March, 9.00am - 2.00pm
- Saturday 28 March, 9.00am - 2.00pm - Tokoroa
- Sunday 29 March, 7.00am - 1.00pm - Rotorua
Benefits & Terms of Role
- One free entry into the Volcanic Epic 2026 event valued at $2099
- Entry does not include additional entry benefits and cannot be exchanged for monetary value.
- Entry cannot be refunded, deferred or transferred.
- Failure to attend shifts will result in immediate cancellation of entry.
- You can nominate a person to complete the shifts for you i.e a spectator who is travelling with you.
- Must have wet weather gear and enclosed shoes (no cycling shoes)
- Must have own accommodation and transport arrangements to and from each stage.
- Limited spots available and valid for new entries only.
- Must be 18+
